Awaiting yet another Journey

I set sail deep in to the ocean,
With a pile of big dreams hoping,
There's lots of adventure
And loads of fun ahead.

Till I reached mid-ocean,
The caressing wind set my sail smooth,
The calm water made my journey pleasant.
And I strongly felt my goal was at reach.

But no sooner did this thought sink in,
Things started taking a turn,
As though my journey was destined to be incomplete.
Yet I chose not to sail back, no matter how hard it gets.

As I pressed on
Fate decided to play strange games.
The gentle wind turned violent,
The calm water turned ferocious.

A sudden gloom of darkness spread,
I was left with two choices
To sail back home or
Continue my journey amidst the turmoil.

My pursuit of big dreams would surely have had
More adventures and mysteries to unfold - a goal to reach.
But back at shore, there awaited an innocent soul,
For whom I meant everything in life.

I wrangled with my mind,
To make the biggest decision in my life.
For reasons good or bad,
With a heavy heart, I chose to go back to the shore.

Whatever happens, life must go on,
Although bearing a shattered dream.
Here it does with a small piece of hope that,
There awaits yet another journey deep in to the same ocean.

Perhaps a journey that is complete!
